Interwar Period Essay.

The inter war period is known to be the period between the end of the First World War and the beginning of the Second World War in Europe. It started the day 11th of November 1918 and ended the 1st of September 1939 lasting 21 years. A lot of countries were affected big time. The countries were: Germany, France, Britain, the US, and China/Japan. The each got affected in similar ways. For example German was the one who suffered the most since they got blamed for all that happened. All the countries blamed them for having their economy go down and have them suffer. Although Germany was a very powerful group they ended up with a huge fail. In France the death rate increased rapidly same as for a lot of people were losing their jobs. In the UK there were a lot a lot of people that lost their jobs.
Europe was already struggling to recover from the devastation of the First World War. In North America the first half of the inter war period is known to be one of a considerable prosperity, but this changed dramatically with the onset of the Great Depression in 1929. In Asia, Japan became an even more assertive power, especially with regards to China. This period was marked by a significant change in the international order, away from the balance of power that had dominated pre-World War I Europe. One main institution that was meant to bring stability was the League of Nations. It was created at the end of the First World War with the intention of maintaining world security and peace and encouraging economic growth between member countries. This institution was hit by a number of issues that undermined because its primary aims still remain important in today's society however it was badly administered.
The new League of Nations found itself increasingly discredited through a series of crises the invasion of Manchuria by Japan was seen as the first step towards the Second World War. Another one was when Italy attacked Abyssinia in 1935. Abyssinia was defeated by Italy. From all that happened there the league showed its weakness. It showed that even though authority was command upon Italy they weren't able to take them further than they could have. This is because neither France nor Britain wanted to keep apart Italy and lose her has their ally, the actual actions of Britain and France, pushed Mussolini and Italy further towards Hitler. From this chaos Italy felt great annoyance towards the League; it withdrew in 1937 and now looked to Germany as an ally. This incident showed Hitler how weak the League was and encouraged him to take his first action in breaking the terms of the Treaty of Versailles.
The inter war period was a great change for a lot of people and having them get ready for the next big thing. Some came out being winners and victorious. Other were obviously mad and had hate towards other countries. Others were obviously careless. But all of these were the reason why World War II broke out and until this day people study about it because it was huge part of life.
